1930's
In 1929, Frank Whiting bought the land from Theodore Blank, but it wasn't until 1932 that the boathouse was actually built. In 1939, Whiting added a one-story party room. Inside the party rooms are a wealth of original detail that include floor-to-ceiling paneling, oars employed as curtain rods, and a bar and charcoal grill with neon sign "Nauti-Gal" in reference to his yacht. The original boathouse had a marvelous enclosed patio on the roof, known as the "Party Deck" where Mr. Whiting had many of his parties.
